You're Not The Boss Of Me - ReThinking It All

It's not quite a clean slate, but I'm not going to just pick up what I had and keep going.

This is my first push with You're Not The Boss Of Me since I stopped writing it earlier.  Now that I'm done with Gamer Gurl 2: Evolutions, I plan to jump in and have this be my new writing itch.  For my own benefit, and to help those that are curious about the process, I'm going to re-cap everything I've done with this story besides share what I've specifically written story wise.

My first idea for this story came in February of 2023. This is while I was still writing Just Dance.  I'd just found Nicegent42 on CHYOA and was exploring their work.  The crux of what I wrote back then is this paragraph:

----------------------
Woman wants to entrap a womanizing executive at her company.  She can't find a woman that could fit in and isn't known by the man, so she turns to a friend who jokingly but convincingly dressed up as a woman back in college for a prank.  She dresses him up, gets him officially hired as the guy's secretary and they plan to record a tit for tat demand for sex.  During the attempt though, while the guy is successfully pulling off the 'play as a secretary' game, he gets caught by the very man they're trying to entrap.  Not only does the man destroy the evidence, but uses his very employment status as blackmail him and the woman.  Blackmail the guy into remaining his secretary... sexy secretary now... and blackmail the woman into helping maintain the false front.
----------------------

I wrote out a skeleton of an outline.  Who the characters were, what they did to get into the places I wanted, and how they got trapped into being a secretary.  I then had many more ideas, but they were one liners.  I look at a lot of them now and I honestly don't know what I meant as some seem to outright contradict other ideas.

Anyway, keep in mind, this was before I even thought about writing on CHYOA.  I was writing Just Dance as one long project and no one got to read it until it was all done.  I didn't have an outline for Just Dance and I didn't feel any pressure, beyond my own, to continue writing.  I also wasn't good at breaking a story up into scenes, into arcs, and into chapters.  I just wrote continuously.  I'm not even sure I had an outline.

My plan, at the time, was to finish up Just Dance, get it published, and then come back to this office/secretary story.

I published Just Dance in June of 2023.  And I didn't do anything with this story until October of 2023.  I honestly don't remember what spurred me back into writing this story but I dove in with both feet.  I wrote the above post where I discussed more of the story, how I came up with the name, and finding models to fit in as our hero/heroine.  Per the saved files on my computer, I wrote out 8 different times between October and November of that year.

At that point I had most of the 'beginning' done.  Remember, I was writing this as one big project again, so I knew I could always come back and add more or make changes.  I still didn't have much of an outline, just several ideas for scenes.  I didn't even know how they'd interlink together.  But I made another post about it as a month long update in November of 2023.

On November 13th, I published my first chapter of Gamer Gurl at CHYOA.com.  The next day I not only published three more chapters, I also published a chapter to a different story on CHYOA.  I was quickly enamored and addicted to that new form of writing.  It took me all of a week and a half to write more for Gamer Gurl than I had for all of You're Not The Boss Of Me.  I recognized that You're Not The Boss Of Me was basically done.  I set it aside and focused on Gamer Gurl.

After Gamer Gurl I needed a break but ended up writing my 'futurism' story that ended up becoming It's A Man's World instead of returning to You're Not The Boss Of Me.

quick aside... we're going to drop writing out You're Not The Boss Of Me every time.  I LOVE the title, but it's a pain to type.  From here on out when I'm referring to this story it'll just be YNTBOM.

After It's A Man's World I then went back into Gamer Gurl 2.  And for the last year I've been working on YNTBOM in the back of my head.  I've honed the story quite a bit and thought more about writing it in the CHYOA style.

Last night I read through parts of what I'd written.  While I like much of that setup, it's not going to flow.  I also found some narrative traps that I'd set for myself that I want to get in and change.  For one, the surgery was going to come as too much of a surprise.  I should have been setting that up even before Paris gets a job in the firm helping Grace out.  I also want the surgery to be one of three transformations.

The first transformation will go fairly quickly.  It's mainly what I've written already... getting Paris dressed and looking like a woman.  He'll have a corset on and other body enhancers to give him curves and will be using equisite makeup to femme up his face as much as possible.  He'll make an attractive enough woman to get this job done, but won't put much acting into it.  Just enough to snare Mal.

After their caught (I'll come back to 'caught' part), Paris will more or less continue on with this disguise.  An attractive woman but not an overtly sexual one.  He'll be quiet as he has no interest in making relationships now that he's going to be there for a year.  Eventually, maybe a couple months down the road, when Mal blackmails both Paris and Grace, Paris will go through another transformation.  Mal, using Grace's help, will force Paris to go into the ultra sexy look that he wants.  More body enhancers, limited cosmetic procedures (lip injections, botox), and will be forced to present himself as a bimbo secretary.  The surgery will be the final transformation.  It'll be a comedy of errors where Paris has discussed all these changes with his surgeon friend as hypotheticals but they end up in his chart where one of the surgeons colleagues use them as the surgical plan when he takes over.

Without describing everything, I want to set up where Paris has a congenital deviated septum.  It gives him bloody noses, frequent colds, and frequent difficulty in smelling and tasting.  But without medical insurance, the best his friend can do is quote him $20,000 for the surgery.  It will be one of the enticements for him to go undercover... he'll get to use the medical insurance to get the procedure done since the firm has a bonus for employees to get cosmetic procedures done and his friend works at a well known cosmetic clinic, even though he does both plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery.

When Paris comes in with the insurance to actually set it up, he has to be dressed in as a secretary and laughs it off with his friend.  They get into a conversation about how much they could feminize his body if they really wanted to.  They could give him the wide hips and thighs that he's currently using body enhancers for.  They could give him the tucked in waist that the corsets are currently giving him.  They could give him breast implants bigger than his already large C cup breast forms.  They could use feminization facial surgery to reshape his jaw, his nose, and his cheekbones.  They could do a tracheal shave to reduce his adam's apple.

These would all be closer to real surgeries than I've previously written.  In other words some of them COULD be reversed, but not all of them and none of them without scarring.  They'd also require a couple months of recovery.

I picture that while Paris and this surgeon (gonna have to name him) are talking about this, they're constantly getting interrupted so that half of the surgical team ends up hearing about how they're making a plan to fully feminize this person using the insurance from the company.  Sometime later the surgical clinic will call HR to get confirmation that their insurance will cover such an extensive set of procedures.  The HR rep, who's the one forcing Paris into this, will of course approve it figuring Paris just is diving into the role.  He sends the call up to Mal to make sure Mal is okay with the length of time Paris will be off.  Paris gets a whiff of the call, and thinks that Mal might be denying him the chance to use the insurance to get his deviated septum fixed and simply demands that he approves it.  So Mal, having of course already heard about everything getting done and wanting his secretary to look sexier... approves it.

On the day of the surgery, just as Paris is starting to go under, the surgeon will bow over him and introduce herself to him... confirming the LONG list of surgeries they're going to do.  Just about everything that they'd discussed hypothetically.  AT which time Paris goes under.  Instead of waking up an hour later, looking forward to a several day recovery of his nose, he wakes up the next day in a hospital room looking forward to at least a three day stay in the hospital and a months long recovery for his entire body.

Speaking of getting caught.  I kind of had that vague as to why he's forced to stay as the secretary.  I think I found a way to firm it up.  Paris, Grace, and the HR director all set it up so that Paris can get hired in as a female.  Mal is caught by Paris on record abusing his power in an illegal manner on the same day that the HR Director is fired and replaced.  When they sit down with the HR new HR director he's going to turn out to be the deepest villain in this.  You see, the partners are taking the company public, meaning that every book, every account, every legal matter is being dug into.  A simple sexual harassment case could cost them millions in valuation.  One of their executives getting fired and prosecuted could absolutely tank the entire deal.  So the HR rep is the one the forces both Mal and Paris into this first arrangement.  Paris remains Mal's secretary and gives all evidence of Mal's wrongdoing to HR.  Otherwise he will get formally fired and prosecuted for identity and insurance fraud.  Mal not only has to keep Paris as his secretary, he has to keep Paris and all other sexual harassment claims down to zero, otherwise the evidence will be given to the police and he'll be fired, losing millions in the possible sale because of stock options, and of course being prosecuted.

And that sets up the end of the story.  Once the company goes public, Paris is free to leave.  But how far will he have fallen?

So, I basically see this as three acts.  The first act is introducing Paris and Grace and their plan.  It involves them disguising Paris and Paris putting his life on pause as he figures he'll be back within a week or two.  This is also the beginning of the surgery setup.  The HR director will get fired and replaced during this act, laying the groundwork for Paris being stuck for at least a year.  He'll go through the motions of putting his life on a longer hiatus as he'll be out of it for a year or more now, including subletting out his studio.

When Mal blackmails Paris and Grace, that's the beginning of the second act.  During the first act Paris didn't have to 'act' feminine.  The only times he did was to try and blackmail Mal.  After he was forced to stay as a secretary he'd moved into pant suits, simple hair, and was more or less ignoring everybody in the office that he didn't have to interact with.  Now, under Mal's thumb, he has to be the bimbo secretary that Mal's known for.  Sexy dresses, big hair, long nails, chewing gum, chatty, friends with the other secretaries, and of course gabbing that they're having sex even when they're NOT having it.

This will be where Paris meets up with Trixie and becomes friends as even Grace can't help him be the bimbo in the office.  That relationship will stay the same, Trixie likes girly boys and flirts and has sex with Paris but believes Paris is bi like her and interested in her boyfriend.

The first act will be Paris as defiant toward Mal.  The second act will have him being scared and forced into a role that he's only been on the opposite side of... he's taken advantage of bimbos.  A LOT.

The third act will be after the surgery.  Mal, even before the surgery will be getting aroused by Paris at this point and it will only go into overdrive when Paris is fully femmed up surgically.  They might have a hand job scene to help establish just how desperate Mal is for sex, but he'll keep saying that he'll respect the fact that Paris doesn't want to have sex with men so long as he ACTS like he's having sex with Mal in order to help Mal's reputation.  Once Mal sees the video of Paris giving Darnell head though, he considers everything else that Paris has said to be a lie and now insists upon sex.

I might even have parts of this being Mal slowing down the process of going public specifically because he likes the fact that he now has a sexy bimbo secretary that can't just leave him, believing that if he keeps Paris like this long enough that Paris will like it and agree to a full sex change.  Meanwhile Grace is dominating Paris at home, Paris has to keep lying to Trixie letting her believe he's in transition, has to keep lying to Darnell who believes he's a full woman that likes to give head to men, and keep lying just enough to keep his gender counselor on board without her approving the final sex affirming surgery.

I think I can use that as the three act story.  It'll hopefully be about the length of Gamer Gurl 2: Evolutions and not blossom into the entire size of the full Gamer Gurl saga!

So the next step will be a very rough outline.  Basically what I have above, but including the sub characters so I know when they come in and out of the story.  Like the photographer that Paris is friends with that ends up taking his photo as a sexy bimbo (and maybe conning him like Paris had conned other models).  The surgeon friend.  The gender counselor (I'd like more story for her).  Trixie and Darnell.  Mal and his wife.  I even picture Mal's wife meeting Paris, much to Paris' chagrin.

Once I have that rough outline, I can make sure the three acts are roughly the same size and then can do like I did with Gamer Gurl Evolutions... write out a more detailed scene by scene outline for the first act knowing what I'll have to set up for the second and third actgs without having all the details until I get to them.

That's tomorrows homework!
