Gamer Gurl Part II Part 3

Well that took longer than I thought!

Normal spoiler warnings apply.  If you don't want to know about Gamer Gurl: Origins, the first two thirds of Gamer Gurl: Part II on CHYOA, or the third third that I'm going to be talking about here, then get on outta here.  Otherwise....

I started writing this second part of Gamer Gurl on July 19th.  I planned it in three sections or arcs.  I finished writing the first arc on August 9th.  That was a quick three weeks.  On CHYOA it took 26 chapters and about 67,000 words.  I started the second arc on the 12th of August and... well, it took a LOT longer for various reasons.  

The first dilemma to writing was the whole Tiffany saga.  Going from damaging my car, to getting it repaired, to having the insurance company deny it, to trying to convince them it should be covered, to selling it for junk, to buying a new car.... meh.  It was a terribly stressful and demoralizing experience.  

In addition to that dilemma, I was getting to the bottom of the barrel when it came to depression.  I sought treatment as I couldn't stop working out how I'd commit suicide.  As you've hopefully seen in my update posts, that's better now, but it was still something I had to work through.  

I finally finished the second arc on November 14th.  The second arc was only 15 chapters and almost 39,000 words.  That puts the first two 'thirds' of this second part at 41 chapters and 106,000 words.  That brings up an odd dilemma as Gamer Gurl: Origins was only 39 chapters and 96,000 words in total.  

Here's what I had laid out for the three parts of Gamer Gurl, as I was finishing the first part:

• Gamer Gurl: Origins
• Story of Nick becoming Sadie and Princess BabyDoll
• A lot about the physical transformation and Nick's emotional journey at accepting that he's playing a girl, becoming more and more Sadie all the time and more and more Princess BabyDoll online
• Ends with him accepting that he can be accepted as a girl and can play a cutsy sexy streaming girl online
• Gamer Gurl: Part II
• Story of Nick's continued evolution into Sadie
• Far more of an emotional journey, finding hurdles and ways to get over them.  
• Relationship evolutions with Sarah, Louis, Marley, and even Todd
• Sarah becomes more a friend than a mistress
• Louis becomes more of an emotional love interest
• Marley becomes more of a physical love interest
• Todd rapes her but gets his comeuppance
• Ends with Sadie and Sarah going to the Osaka Dragoon Con but finding out that Sadie's online presence has been demonetized leaving her in a worse situation than before (she's now stuck as Sadie with no finances to get her back to being Nick or paying for her bills).
• Gamer Gurl: Part III
• Story of Sadie's final transformation into a fully realized sexualized woman
• She has to lean into being a sex object online, getting paid FAR more than she was before, but also pushing her FAR more into Sadie's world and leaving doubts that she could ever return to being Nick
• Explore further her relationships with Sara, Marley, and Louis.  
• Does she and Sarah become lovers again?
• How far does she explore physically with Marley
• Does she let Louis know what she is under her chastity cage and clip? 
• Ends with... I haven't got that part yet.  

So you can see, it's a good three part story.  He becomes her.  She becomes more fully her.  She become sexual and open.  If I this was the end of the second part, then I'd be set.  Part I and Part II are roughly the same size.  But that's not the case.  If I end up with the third arc of Part II being closer to the second arc than the first, Part II will be almost 50,000 words LONGER than Part I.  

That brings up the question on what's the best way to split up a multiple part story.  Should they be equal in size, or equal in impact.  I've been thinking about this for the past several days and I believe I've decided on impact as opposed to size.  

Ya'll know I like reading Stephen King.  And while I will never consider myself anywhere near the writer that he is, I can take some hints on how to write from what he's done.  I'm currently re-reading his magnum opus series, The Dark Tower.  It's seven and a half book.  The Gunslinger, which is fairly small.  The Drawing of the Three and Wasteland which are both 'normal'.  Wizard and Glass which is long.  The Wind through the Keyhole which is normal.  The Wolves of the Calla which is long.  Song of Susana which is short.  The Dark Tower which is Very long.  Each book is one part of the story but he took up the space he needed to tell the story. He didn't continue Song of Susana or transfer some of The Dark Tower to that story just to equal out their respective parts.  

I'll do the same thing with this.  Maybe this Part II of Gamer Gurl will be the longest part.  It certainly might if my outline is anything to work off of.  

Here's the basics of what's going to happen in the third arc of Part II.  Sadie comes home after being raped.  She's emotionally raw, mentally lost, and just can't deal with anything even though she tries.  She balks at being touched by Marley and cancels her date with Louis.  She eventually tells Sarah what happened and then tells Marley and Lous, but begs them all to do nothing as she doesn't want them to get in trouble and she only has a single lab left.  Her friends of COURSE step up and fuck Todd over.  They blackmail him worse than he did Sadie and not only make him leave her alone, they make him leave the university and city.  Sadie is free and learns that people in general and men in particular can be good again.  

She accepts that it might be difficult, but re-starts her journeys with Marley and Louis again.  Specifically she has Marley help her with hand jobs and then applies that to Louis on a date.  Twice.  She also looks at her finances and realizes that she not only has enough saved up to pay off her remaining bills, she'll soon have enough for her entire next semester AND enough to set up her own apartment if not a rented house.  But instead, she does something to spoil herself and gets a car.  She pays cash for a Mazda Miata MX-5 and has it painted a gradated pink to purple.  She figures it will help with her Princess BabyDoll social media and when she's done she can always paint it back to a normal color for 'Nick' use.  

Everything seems to be going good and she goes to the Osaka Dragoon Con with Sarah.  At some point, either on the trip there, at the Con, or just after it, she gets notice that she's been demonetized on all of her platforms.  She can't pay off Sarah.  She can't afford the procedures to turn her back into Nick.  She can't afford her next semester.  She's screwed.  

And that's the end of Part II.  

My outline for the first arc was 13 pages long. My outline for the second arc was 14 pages long.  My outline for the third arc, which currently ends with her getting on the flight to Osaka, is currently 11 pages long.  I don't think I'll share the outline like I have before as it's basically just a more detailed version of those three above paragraphs explaining the story.  

I'm hopeful that once I get the outline done (I really do need to decide how to end it) I can be more consistent in writing this and have it done by the end of the year.  You know, somewhere between the three weeks for the first arc and the three months for the second arc.  I can then do a final edit and publish it to Fictionmania in January.  

At that point, I'm fairly sure I'll need to step away again.  I was SO energized to get back to Sadie and Sarah and Louis and Marley when I started this in July and that big burst of energy just isn't there right now.  And to be honest, my mind keeps going to the "You're Not The Boss Of Me" story.  I was afraid that might just go by the wayside and never get done, but I think I'm ready to scrap what I already had, re-set it up with an outline, and write it out on CHYOA chapter by chapter.  It'll be somewhere between the emotional stories that Just Dance and Gamer Gurl are, and the raw sexual story that "It's a Man's World" was.  

Finally I have to have names for the last two parts.  I don't want to just keep calling them Part II and Part III.  

I'd thought earlier about Gamer Gurl: Metamorphosis for the second part, but I think I'm leaning closer to Gamer Gurl: Evolutions.  I just think it sounds good and works with the first part.  She originated in Part I and evolved in Part II.  But what is Part III?  Gamer Gurl: More Evolutions?  I could do what Melissa Daniels did with one of her stories.  The first part was 'Drinking Games' while the second, longer, part was 'Video Games'.  So I could have Gamer Gurl: Origins, Gamer Gurl: Evolutions, and Cam Girl: Revolutions.  Or, since it's a bigger change than her 'evolution' I could have Part III be Gamer Gurl: Revolution.  

Yeah... I like that.
