Gamer Gurl: Origins took me about three months. It's A Man's World took about five months. Well... Gamer Gurl 2: Evolutions took a touch over one solid year. I started writing it on July 20th of 2024 and finished the first draft on July 30th 2025. To be fair, Evolutions is by far the longest of the three stories.
Gamer Gurl: Origins is 95,600 words. It's A Man's World clocks in at 147,840 words. Gamer Gurl 2: Evolutions is 166,438 words. Still, it's not twice as long as It's A Man's World like the writing time hints at. If you've followed along on this blog you'll know why this took longer. It was emotional and mental health related. Basically, about a year ago I had a major depressive event. It was bad enough that I sought out treatment, both therapy based and medicinal. Both helped but the medicinal help was pretty severe in its side effects including a loss of sexual desire. It's tough enough to write about Sadie getting lovingly fucked by Sarah or learning how to give a hand job to her boyfriend when I'm sitting here uninspired and unaroused.
But I continued to plug along and write as I do honestly enjoy both this story in particular and the creative process of writing. I'd wager that if I hadn't pre-planned the story, I would have dropped it. But, I knew what was coming and I knew I wanted to write it out and see what happened myself.
So, what did we do story wise? Well, while Origins focused on Nick becoming Sadie and Princess BabyDoll, Evolutions focuses on Sadie becoming more comfortable as HERself. She has several emotional trials including being taken advantage of by Todd, having Marley go sexually to far with her accidently, having Louis fall in love with her, and changing the very type of relationship she has with Sarah. By the end of the story she is fairly comfortable exploring the possibilities of what she is. I've also set up several things that will pay off in the final part.
For instance, Evolutions ends on a cliff hanger with Sadie's social and streaming accounts being demonetized. She just put herself in a hole by buying a car, and now without that source of income is back at square one... she still owes Sarah for several large financial debts and hasn't set up her college payments for the next semester or year. Her hormones are not right. I've hinted at this throughout the story and laid it out explicitly when they were injured in Japan. When they get back to America they'll have a visit with the good Doctor and find out what that means going forward. Sadie was also found out by one of her former friends, who has been following her for awhile as Voltaire. So, all of those loose threads will have to get wrapped up. In addition to those, there is also the relationships with Sarah, Louis, and Marley. How she'll earn money. If/how/when she'll get her old body back.
I have a lot of ideas in the back of my head but none are concrete. The one thing I know is that Sadie will begin to stream in a more adult nature. How far it goes is still up in the air. Will she just game while being more overtly sexual? Lean into the bondage? Strip while gaming? Stream sex games? Stream masturbation? Stream sex with other people? I don't know. I will say that I added Voltaire in as a person who knows Nick as a possible sex partner for streaming. He will 'know' Sadie's physical secret and work at keeping it a secret while making it look like she's just another woman streaming sex. That way we can still explore an emotional relationship with Louis and not taint Marley with sexualized online streaming.
But, that being said, I need to step away from Sadie and her crew. I've been itching for a less emotional based story and a more overtly sexual one. I worried for a long time about why It's A Man's World didn't come out as well as I thought it would and I think a big part of that was the sci-fi world building. You, the reader, had to take a LOT of information in and work with it in order for the fun sexy scenes to work. Sure, I thought it was fun but I'd also been working on parts of that story in my head for years while I asked people to read along in a matter of days. It's also more difficult to set yourself in the subjects point of view when you have to accept a different world around you.
Once I accepted that as one of the possible problems, I think I'm going to be able to try again with a more tongue in cheek sexualized story. It'll be based in reality. More or less, the same world that I've set Just Dance and Gamer Gurl in. It'll be the secretary story I was working on before, You're Not The Boss Of Me. I've had that going through my head through most of this year, or about half the time I was writing Game Gurl 2: Evolutions. I'm going to have to go through and re-parce it out, writing it in the same 2500 word chapters that I've done before. I'm also going to need a better outline as I have more 'scenes' that I want to pepper in and I want a better ending. But that's for setting up next and I'll have a post dedicated to that later.
For now, you can follow along and read the final version of Gamer Gurl 2: Evolutions as I publish them on Fictionmania. I decided that I was going to keep it at eight chapters even though it's quite a bit longer than either Just Dance or Gamer Gurl: Origins. Where both of those had chapters that were roughly 50 or 60k in size (as a text file), these will be just over 100k. But it still works out as the beats, the chapters, work.
As I'm writing this out, I have Chapter 1 published and have submitted Chapter 2. I'll update this post as each of the subsequent chapters get posted until they're all linked below. As with anything I write, I crave feedback. I used to try and be aloof... ride above the opinions of those that read the works. And while I stay by my guns of writing for myself first, I still desire to know what others think of the story. So, if you have any feedback, I'd love to hear it.
