Update April 25, 2021
You've read about my bad week at work from my last post. To be honest, that covers most of my updates, but lets see if there's anything else to talk about.

Work is Hell
I have to wonder how much of me changing jobs is a desire to do something new and how much is a growing dismay at my current predicament. This week was fucking hell at work and I swear I haven't thought this much about quitting a job in years.

Just Dance: Writing Problems
I've talked a few times about me writing a new story. It's been almost a year since I published Thesis on Fictionmania. My original plan was always to just pick up the baton where I left off and start a new story. I even had a story idea I'd been working on since before Thesis with some great sexy scenes and a pretty good overall idea. But then the reality hit.

Update April 17, 2021
It's been a couple bad weeks at work. We had the first D&D session in like 6 months. I wrote about a page of my new story but am wondering if I'm making it too long. I got caught up in Mad Men again. I have some financial questions about debt, savings, and purchases.

Xfinity and buying right
I was going to write this in with the 'Update' post but figured it's worthy of its own as it requires a little history. This involves Xfinity (I'll refer to them as Comcast equally) and the dining room television. We've had them since.. well, ever. When we first got cable television back in the early 80s, it was with a local cable company. That got bought up by a bigger local company. That got bought up by a bigger reginal company. Ect ect... it ended up being Comcast and later Xfinity. My hate for them has grown with each iteration.
Update April 04, 2021
This is one of those weeks that feel equally busy and full while at the same time feeling lazy and empty.

Update March 28, 2021
Two circumstances occurred this weekend that made me realize how updating here is useful and practically necessary. The first was the mouse post. I wanted to look back at my mouse history and figured that the frustration I had would have lead me to posting about it here. Sadly, no. The only mention of a specific mouse was my post from 2014 where I said I had a Microsoft Sidewinder. It would have been nice to know more of the dates for the Logitech and Razer mice. The other thing was looking back at my up and down history of wanting to move out of this house and wanting to stay. In a very real way, this blog has become my personal journal and is the only record of many of my thoughts. And looking back at how I think is pretty important, even if it feels frivolous at the time of writing. So, today I have a bunch of little updates. Probably useless now, but useful going into the future.

I won't buy a new mouse, I won't buy a.... DAMN IT!
It's been well established that I have impulse control when it comes to purchases. From socks and pens to computers and cars I just get it in my head that I want it, I do the research for the 'best', and then I wrench my hands for a bit before making the eventual purchase. Well, that's one of the things I'm trying to work on this year. I want to be a little stronger willed both in the research portion and the actual buying. One of the first real tests of this was the keyboard. And as I wrote about here, I failed that test hard. To be fair, the purchase part of the decision was already made as the keyboard needed to be replaced. But not only did I do extensive research into which keyboard I wanted, I ended up buying the exact most expensive option out there. Now comes the natural progression of having a new keyboard... wouldn't a new mouse look good next to it?

Who am/was I?
"I don't even have a concept of who I was back then." That's something I heard in a podcast I like to listen to that's really stuck with me. It got me thinking... who was I back in 2010? Let's take a look and see.
